You should mention that while handling the knife, one should be extremely careful. There are points in the video where there is an obvious lack of safety.

Grow up. Name calling is for 3rd grade children.

he a third grade child...

hell yea. This fool didnt say be carefal with tha can which can cut chu itself. And avoid cuttin yourself with tha knife and can!

I'm sorry, but, I thought it common sense to use caution while cutting thin sheet metal with a sharp knife, moron....

I agree with you that the person in this video isn't handling the knife very safely, but if someone has to be told to be careful with a knife, then that person shouldn't use a knife. I mean, it's pretty obvious.

this is for survival though...

its just a knife stfu... the worst that will happen is he will cut himself omg, haven't you ever got a cut before? grow up, get some balls.

No, the worst is you cutting an artery and dying. So shut the #$%@ up.

Well I agree with knife safety, if you think about it, being in a situation of having to use this stove, medical care for stitches and antibiotics might not be available, so keeping yourself healthy an uninjured is TOP PRIORITY. We've all watched what happens to injured animals in the wild on the Discovery channel.

Also, you might be wondering "How the hell am I supposed to cook anything on that tiny pot?" You can make 4-6 of these and place them under a big pot or skillet and cook everything. (Meth heads already know this...lol)

I'll keep that in mind for my next group rendezvous meal... :-)

Anyone like to learn how to properly filter water for safe drinking?... http://www.survivaltime.org has a video...and lots more info about urban survial that's sure to come in handy SOON!

why don't you submit it to WonderHowTo ?!? They love to feature stuff like that and they'll send traffic to your site!

what else besides rubbing alchohol could be used as fuel?

i would imagine: well gasoline, Lighter Fluid and other flamable liquids. I want to try to make one that you can use brush and things to put in.

Alcohol is quite stable... denatured is best because it burns completely. Spirits like gasoline can be volatile and sooty... they're best used by putting sand in a small can, then adding the fuel and lighting... it is more controlled that way.

This is great. I wonder if there's a way they can modify this into a safe heat source. My power went out just the day before yesterday and it got *cold* in here after a while and we're well insulated.

You might be interested in my blog on "TP (Toilet Paper) Heater" found at http://survivaltek.com/?p=666 ... it shows the set-up that I use.

woo0ow!
